Rafa Nadal's wife information revealed following criticism from tennis fans
The tennis star has spoken up about his choice to abandon his wife, who was expecting, in the hospital last year.
Rafa Nadal has responded to criticism over his choice to abandon his wife last year when she was in the hospital by making a startling revelation about her. Xisca Perello, the wife of Nadal, was hospitalized in Mallorca owing to pregnancy-related difficulties, and she required medical supervision.
Since then, the couple has given birth to a healthy baby boy named Rafael Jr. Mum and baby are currently in Australia in advance of Melbourne's first grand slam of the year. Prior to Rafa Jr., Nadal and Xisca went through a difficult emotional period during which Nadal made a lot of decisions to leave her side due to his tennis responsibilities.
After choosing to come to America to play in the US Open in September while Xisca was in the hospital, the Spanish champion faced some ferocious response from supporters online. Additionally, he left her side to join Roger Federer in a doubles match at the Laver Cup, the Swiss legend's final match before retiring.
However, Nadal recently admitted that Xisca had wanted him to play in New York and London, and his wife had supported him in doing so. "Fortunately, I have a strong woman by my side. And she has always given me all the assistance I could possibly need and more, as well as constant motivation to keep going "said he.
Nadal is tired of being questioned about his future and says, "Every press conference I hold, it appears I must retire."
After losing against Cameron Norrie, the Spaniard was asked if he was thinking about ending his career.
She essentially made things simple for me in that regard. In fact, she was the one who pushed me to travel to the US.
Federer has talked about what it meant to him to play with Nadal at the Laver Cup. Federer explains, "I called him after the US Open, waiting for him to complete that tournament, simply to let him know about my retirement.
Rafael promised me, "I will do all in my power to be there with you. And I can tell you that felt fantastic. And it demonstrated once more how much we value and respect one another.
"And I simply believed that it would be a wonderful, incredible tale for us, for sports, for tennis, and perhaps beyond that as well, where we can coexist in a tense rivalry and triumph and demonstrate that, hey, again it's just tennis. Rafa made a tremendous effort, and I will always remember what he did for me in London."
Rafa Nadal's poor performance leading up to the Australian Open
Last week, Xisca and Rafa Jr. were seen supporting him at the United Cup in Sydney. The 22-time grand slam champion's season didn't start off as he had hoped after he lost consecutive matches to Alex de Minaur and Cameron Norrie. This is the first time in his career that he has started a season 0-2.
"I lost in the first round of the first competition where I played like a father without the baby. I left the group stage for the second event since I was taking the baby along. I did win my last game, but I still need to keep getting better, don't you think? "said he. "We have assistance. Not at all a problem. Just like everyone else who has a child in their lives, I need to organize my life a little bit."
With rumors rampant that he will announce his retirement at some point this year, Nadal was left seething at inquiries about his tennis career. He declared, "For me, I lost my match, that's it. "It seems like I have to retire every time I show up for a press conference.
You are obviously quite curious about my retirement. That's not the situation right now, I mean. I'll let you guys know when that day comes, guys. Please stop asking me about retiring since I'll still be playing tennis.
